Cheers to an awesome year ahead.

As I sit by the window on the last evening of the year, the golden glow of the setting sun warms the world, much like the kindness and grace I have received over the last year. This year has been anything but predictable, but one word sums it up: gratitude.

It started with the uncertainty of winter, when obstacles loomed like dark clouds. There were times during my nursing shifts when exhaustion felt overwhelming, but the smiles of my patients and the encouragement of my coworkers helped me keep going. One patient, Mr. Alvarez, stood out—a man who, despite his pain, found ways to laugh and share hope with everyone he met. His fortitude reminded me that gratitude can come from the simplest things: a shared laugh, a kind word, or even a silent understanding.

Spring brought its own renewal. My wife and I hosted a dinner for friends and family, which was filled with laughter, stories, and clinking glasses. It was more than just a meal; it was a reminder of the connections that keep us grounded. Our board game nights became mini-traditions, moments that strengthened the fabric of our lives.
